Visit of the delegations participating to the 10th meeting of the Defence Ministers Council, the 11th meeting of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and the 14th meeting of experts Member States of the North African Regional Capacity, at the Regional Logistics Base of the North Africa Regional Capacity, in Jijel.
On the sidelines of the work of the 10th meeting of Defence Ministers Council, the 11th meeting of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and the 14th meeting of experts Member States of North Africa Regional Capacity , held in Algiers from 02nd to 06th May 2023, delegations from Algeria, Egypt, Libya and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, as well as the Executive Secretariat of the North Africa Regional Capacity, visited yesterday, 05th May 2023, the Regional Logistics Base of the North Africa Regional Capacity, located in Jijel.
The delegations were welcomed by the Chief of Staff of the 5th Military Region in the company of the Commander of the Regional Logistics Base and executives from the said Military Region. After a welcome speech, a presentation was given about the missions and capabilities provided by the Base, in order to guarantee a rapid and effective response to the logistical needs of the African Standby Force. This visit also provided an opportunity to learn about facilities of the Regional Logistics Base, which plays a key role in the logistical support of the Regional standby Force of the Regional Capacity of North Africa and the African standby Force, and this, during a possible deployment within the framework of peace Standby support missions, carried out under the auspices of the African Union or the United Nations.
This visit was also an opportunity for representatives of member countries and the NARC Executive Secretary to exchange views on regional security issues and logistical challenges facing the African Standby Force, which highlighted on the importance of regional cooperation in the security aspect and the commitment of the member countries of the North Africa Regional Capacity to strengthen their capacities within the African Standby Force and to consolidate their cooperation in terms of logistics .
