Second Military Region...Operation of destruction and incineration of a large quantity of drugs
In application of the regulations relating to the incineration and the destruction of drugs of different types, like other operations, it was carried out this afternoon, 31st May 2023 in Remchi, in the wilaya of Tlemcen in 2nd Military Region, in the presence of local and regional civil and security authorities, the destruction and the incineration of a large quantity of these poisons after a collect operation of all drugs seized at the national level.
This operation, which took place under the supervision of the specialized commission responsible for destruction of drugs and narcotics, chaired by the representative of the judicial authority in the relevant sector, saw the destruction and the incineration of (02) tons and (272.27) kilograms of treated kif and of (02) kilograms and (654.28) grams of cocaine. These quantities had been previously seized across the national territory by People's National Army units, the National Gendarmerie, the National Security, as well as by the Algerian Customs services.
It should be emphasized that the destruction operation of these drugs was carried out in strict compliance with security and environmental protection measures and in accordance with the appropriate frameworks and the application mechanisms for this operation. It was proceeded first, to the weighing and the inventory of all the quantities seized then to their sealing by the services of the judicial police, namely the National Gendarmerie, the National Security and the judicial authorities, then, to transfer them to the Regional Commands, and to the wilaya of Tlemcen where the destruction operation took place. The quantities seized are unsealed in the presence of the various security services and under the supervision of the judicial authorities, before being incinerated in accordance with legal techniques and standards.
This operation, which takes place following the execution of other similar operations at the regional level under the supervision of specialized regional commissions, confirms, once again, the relevance of the national efforts made in the field of the fight against drug trafficking, in particular through the permanent and efficient presence on the ground of the various security forces who work tirelessly to thwart any attempt to flood our country with these drugs, particularly across our western borders.
