IMDEP.. A round table on Algeria’s accession to BRICS
Within the concretization of scientific activities plan for the year 2023, the Military Institute of Documentation, Evaluation and Prospective of the Ministry of National Defence, organized, today, 30th May 2023, at the Army’s National circle, in Beni Messous, a round table entitled: "Accession to the BRICS: what are the impacts for Algeria?".
This event was attended by University researchers, representatives from ministerial departments and national structures. Several interventions were given by experts in political science and international relations, who focused on Algeria's candidacy to join the BRICS group, as well as the positive aspects and opportunities that this membership could offer in various sectors.
The floor was then handed over to the speakers who highlighted the importance of understanding the future challenges linked to this accession, through the pursuit of development efforts, in various sectors, agreed by the country's high authorities, which will make Algeria capable of assuming a major role within the BRICS, serving as a hub and gateway to the African continent.
