Operational report of PNA from 10th to 16th May 2023
Within the dynamics of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 10th to 16th May 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (12) support elements for terrorist groups in different operations, while one (01) casemate and two (02) handmade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Boumerdes and Biskra.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (34) drug traffickers and defeated attempts to introduce (06) quintals and (40) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (208,021) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, PNA detachments arrested (902) individuals and seized (35) vehicles, (282) generators, (197) jackhammers and (14) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (13) other individuals were arrested, and (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (07) hunting rifles, large quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (25) tons, in addition to (14) quintals of tobacco and (6,850) units of various beverages were seized during separate operations across the national territory. Moreover, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, smuggle attempts of quantities of fuel amounting to (15445) litres in Adrar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (20) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (92) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
