Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, during the period from 17th to 23rd May 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

      Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (12) support elements for terrorist groups in different operations.

      Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (83) drug traffickers and defeated attempts to introduce (06) quintals and (42) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, and seized (236,631) psychotropic tablets.




      In Tamanrasset, In Guezzam and Djanet, detachments of PNA arrested (1028) individuals and seized (20) vehicles, (164) generators, (176) jackhammers and (04) metal detectors, as well as quantities explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold manning operations, while (19) other individuals were arrested, and (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (07) hunting rifles, in addition to (11) quintals of tobacco and (4362) units of different beverages were seized during separate operations across the national territory.



      In the same context, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (68,268) litres in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf, while (723) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
