General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA receives the Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Libyan National Unity Government

      General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, received in audience, this Thursday, 09th March 2023, at the headquarters of the People's National Army, General Mohamed Ali El-Hadad, Chief of General Staff of the Government of National Unity Army of Libya.

      The welcoming ceremony began with the salute of the national flag, followed by a military salute presented to the host by a military formation, representing People's National Army Forces.

  

      The meeting was attended by, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of Forces, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Chiefs of Departments and the Central Directors of People's National Army General Staff and of the Ministry of National Defence, as well as members of the Libyan delegation.

  

      On this occasion, the General delivered a speech beginning with welcoming the host delegation, before emphasizing the importance of this meeting which constitutes an opportunity to exchange views on the evolution of the situation in the region and to inquire about the development of bilateral cooperation:

  

      "The mutual exchange of visits between the officials of the two countries has always been an opportunity to exchange views, inquire about the state of cooperation between the two countries and examine the ways of its development and consolidation.
      In this regard, I would like to salute the efforts made by both parties to preserve the historical and bilateral relations that unite our two countries, particularly in the light of the sensitive situation our region is going through".


      The General stressed that the depth of the fraternal ties between the two countries requires the leaders of the two countries to work together to resolve crises that threaten the security and of stability of the region:

  

      "Our common history and the support of the Libyan people for the Algerian Liberation Revolution oblige us, as leaders in both countries, to work together to resolve crises that undermine the security and stability of the region, particulary by contributing to the establishment of political, diplomatic and security mechanisms, with a view to adhere to peaceful approaches which are in the interest of peoples of the region, opening the way to development and prosperity.
      This vision aligns with the principles of Algeria's foreign policy, in line with the international charters of the United Nations, the African Union and the Arab League, based mainly on the policy of good neighbouring and focused on multidimensional cooperation in favour of the development of peoples, support for their right to self-determination, non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and the peaceful resolution of conflicts".


      For his part, the General, Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, expressed his satisfaction with visiting Algeria and highlighted the depth of the ties of brotherhood that bind the two countries, which was reflected in the level of military cooperation between the armies of the two countries in more ways than one.

  

      At the end, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before the General Mohamed Ali El-Haddad signed the guestbook of the People's National Army General Staff.
