Operational report of PNA from 22nd to 28th February 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out during the period from 22nd to 28th February 2023, several operations which led to high quality results reflecting professionalism, vigilance and the permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of fight against terrorism and borders security, combined detachment of PNA arrested (09) support elements for terrorist groups in different operations throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of fight against organized crime and in continuity with sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army arrested, in coordination with various security services during operations carried out through the military regions, (65) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (10) quintals and (31) kilograms of treated kif, while(267141) psychotropic tablets and (523) grams of cocaine were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tindouf and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army intercepted (859) individuals and seized (43) vehicles, (145) generators, (63) jackhammers, (61,5) quintals of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, tools of detonation and equipment used in illegal gold panning operation, while (14) other individuals were arrested, and (07) shotguns, (40) quintals of tobaccos, (4107) units of various drinks and a large quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (111) ones were seized during different operations throughout the national territory, In the same way, Borders Guards Thwarted, in coordination with National Gendarmerie services, smuggle attempts of huge quantities of fuels amounting to (52558) litres in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Tébessa.
In addition, Coast Guard thwarted, in our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (112) individuals on board handcraft boats, while (488) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
