Operational report of PNA from 1st to 07th March 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 1st to 07th March 2023, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and border security, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested (08) elements of support for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and within the continuity with the sustained efforts aiming to counter drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of People's National Army arrested, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (58) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (06) quintals and (82) kilograms of treated kif, and seized (168586) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, In Salah and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army intercepted (168) individuals and seized (34) vehicles, (154) generators, (138) jackhammers, (13) metal detectors, (24) quintals of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (09) other individuals were arrested, and (07) hunting rifles, (19) quintals of tobacco, (7381) units of different drinks and huge quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (115) tonnes were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Similarly, the Border Guards thwarted, in coordination with the services of the National Gendarmerie, smuggle attempts of large quantities of fuel amounting to (74803) liters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, El-Oued, Souk Ahras, El-Tarf and Tebessa.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (15) individuals aboard craft-built boats, while (295) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
