Operational report of the PNA from 22nd to 29th March 2023
Within the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the People's National Army carried out, during the period from 22nd March to 28th 2023, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the fight against terrorism, combined detachments of the People's National Army arrested (05) support elements for terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while one (01) casemate containing (05) bombs was discovered and destroyed following a search and raking operation in Tizi Ouzou.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the PNA arrested, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (41) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce huge quantities of drugs from the borders with Morocco, amounting to (18) quintals and (76) kilograms of treaded kif, and seized (63730) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, PNA detachments intercepted (87) individuals and seized (33) vehicles, (84) generators, (46) jackhammers, (02) metal detectors, (02 ) tons of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (18) other individuals were arrested, and (02) hunting rifles, quantities of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation amounting to (367) tons, (17) quintals of tobacco and (72,000) units of various pyrotechnic items were seized during distinct operations throughout the national territory. Moreover, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel amounting to (147,485) litres in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El- Tarf and Tebessa.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard thwarted, at the level of our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (177) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (928) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested throughout the national territory.
