Continuing his official visit to China, 13th November 2023, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, was received at the headquarters of the Central Military Commission by General of the Army LIU Zhenli, Chief of Staff of the Department of Joint Staff of the Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China, Where the honours were presented by the military formation of the Chinese Army. On the tune of the national anthems of the two countries, General Chief of PNA Staff reviewed the squares of various Chinese forces who presented him the military honours.
After that, a meeting was held that included extensive talks of the delegations of the two countries, during which General Saïd CHANEGRIHA expressed to his host his deep gratitude for this honour that he and the delegation accompanying him received:
"General Liu Xinli, Chief of Staff of the Army of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China,
Ambassador,
Officers and honourable attendees,
I would like to renew to you and to all attendees my utmost appreciation and great thanks for the generous hospitality that we have received since our arrival in your friendly country, which reflects the long-standing nature of our bilateral military cooperation relations, which draw from the sources of the historical heritage of the two countries, with all the political, strategic and humanitarian depth it represents".
In his speech, General also stressed on the excellence of the long-standing relations between the two friendly countries, which its roots goes back in particular to the glorious revolution of 1st November 1954:
" The People’s Republic of China was among the first countries to support the Algerian people’s struggle for self-determination at the Bandung Conference in 1955, and it was the first non-Arab country to recognize The Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic immediately after announcing its formation on 19th September 1958."
General has also affirmed that the strong ties between Algeria and China are reflected in the overall honorable and common positions between the two countries:
"these distinguished historical relations, which were based on joint solidarity and struggle for sovereignty, independence of decision-making, and the restoration of sovereign rights, the struggle for justice and freedom still exists, especially today In light of a global context that is moving more towards unprecedented multipolarity, and towards restructuring the global distribution of power, away from hegemonic tendencies based on exclusion and attempts to impose agendas and undermine the sovereign choices of states".
During this meeting, the two parties exchanged views on issues of common interest, and also discussed ways to enhance military and security cooperation between the two countries.
