Command post exercise of the North African Regional Capability entitled "Salam North Africa II ".

      Within the framework of enhancing the operational readiness of the North African Regional Capability, and for the purpose of raising the joint planning capabilities between the components of the capability, the North African Regional Capability logistical base in Jijel, 5th Military Region, hosted within the period from 18th to 25th November 2023, command post exercise of the North African Regional Capability entitled “Salam North Africa II “.

  

      The launching ceremony of this exercise, held on 23rd November 2023, was supervised by Major General Belkacem HASNAT, chief of the Department of Employment and Preparation of People's National Army Staff, in the presence of the Executive Secretary of the North African Regional Capability, Mr. Ahmed Hamida TADJOURI, in addition to members of the African Union Commissioner as well as executives from the 5th MR.

  

      This exercise, which was attended by the delegations from member states within North African Regional Capability, represented by Algeria, Egypt, Libya, and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, took place during several stages, starting with planning and preparation to the execution. The stages were characterized by high-level of coordination between the crews and the participating delegations, especially in the part related to joint planning between the components of the North African Regional Capability, as well as the exercising command and control between commanders and subordinates.

  

      The Command post exercise of North African Capability was an opportunity to enhance the planning expertise of the capability officers and executives, as well as familiarity with legal and operational procedures during the deployment of the peace support missions of the African Union Commissioner which enables it to perform the tasks related to the establishment of the security and peace in the African continent.
