Operational report of PNA from 27th September to 3rd October 2023
Within the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 27th September to 3rd October 2023, several operations crowned with high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (16) elements supporting terrorist groups, during various operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (46) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (08) quintals and (40) kilograms of treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (251,849) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, In Guezzam and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, PNA detachments arrested (317) individuals and seized (26) vehicles, (254) generators, (113) jackhammers, (19) metal detectors, (13 ,5) quintals of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (48) other individuals were intercepted and (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (20) hunting rifles, (02) automatic pistols, (50) quintals of tobacco, (40) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (243549) units of various pyrotechnic articles were seized during separate operations across the national territory. Likewise, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel amounting to (28083) liters in Tamanrasset, Tébessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf .
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal emigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (279) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (366) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
