Operational report of PNA from the 11th to the 17th of October 2023
In the context of the continuing efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from the 11th to the 17th of October 2023, several operations crowned with high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of combating terrorism and securing the borders, detachments of People's National Army arrested (11) members of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory, while (04) 122 mm rocket shells were detected and destroyed during a search and inspection operation in Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
Within the framework of combating organized crime and continuing the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions, arrested (76) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (19) quintals and (20) A kilogram of treated kif crossed the border with Morocco, while (1,329,597) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army arrested (243) persons and seized (27) vehicles, (161) generators, (86) jackhammers, and (04) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of explosives and explosive equipment and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (34) other persons were arrested and (04) Kalashnikov machine guns, (17) hunting rifles, (08) automatic pistols, and (52,185) litres of fuel were seized. (35) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, and (4189) units of various beverages, during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal emigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (731) people who were on board artisanal boats, while (407) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
