Operational report of PNA from the 18th to the 24th of October 2023
In the context of the continuing efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from the 18th to the 24th of October 2023, several operations that led to high quality results which reflected professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (09) members of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of combating organized crime and continuing the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions arrested (34) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce two containers (02) and (43) kilograms of treated kif crossed the border with Morocco, while (578,245) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army arrested (155) persons and seized (16) vehicles, (156) generators, (94) jackhammers, and (01) metal detector, in addition quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (29) other persons were arrested and (01) Kalashnikov machine gun, (18) hunting rifles, (04) automatic pistols, (19570) litters of fuel, and (14) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, and (14) quintals of tobacco, during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal emigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (30) persons who were on board artisanal boats, while (208) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
