Operational report of PNA from 30th August to 5th September 2023
Within the dynamic of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 30th August to 5th September 2023, several operations crowned with high quality results which reflect professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, a combined detachment of People's National Army discovered and destroyed during a search operation in Boumerdes (07) casemates for terrorist groups containing (10) defensive grenades, (04) homemade bombs, as well as one (01) pair of binoculars, a quantity of explosive products and other items. In the same wake, (03) elements of support for terrorist groups were apprehended during separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart drug trafficking scourge in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out through the Military Regions, (21) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce one (01) quintal and (29) kilograms of treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (115284) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and In Amenas, PNA detachments arrested (284) individuals and seized (22) vehicles, (214) generators, (125) jackhammers, (05) metal detectors, (5.85) tonnes of raw gold and stones mixture, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illegal gold panning operations, while (17) other individuals were intercepted and (15) hunting rifles, (37) quintals of tobacco and (362) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized in separate operations across the national territory. Likewise, the Border Guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs services, foiled smuggle attempts quantities of fuel amounting to (8,945) litres in Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El-Tarf.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard foiled, on our national coasts, illegal emigration attempts and rescued (46) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (99) illegal immigrants from different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
