Operational Report of PNA from 18th to 23rd April 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 18th to 23rd April 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, and following a search and combing operation in the Al-Thaniyah Al-Kahla area in Medea/1st MR, a detachment of People's National Army was able to eliminate the terrorist "Khattar Amhamed" called "Ismail", and recover one (01) Kalashnikov machine gun, a quantity of ammunition and other items. In the same context, PNA detachments also arrested (06) members of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, arrested (66) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (78) kilograms of treated kif across the borders with Morocco, while (50,038) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guezzam, detachments of People's National Army arrested (140) individuals and seized (34) vehicles, (175) generators, (75) jackhammers, and (236) quintals of mixed stones and raw gold, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, Likewise, (17) other individuals were intercepted, (01) FMPK machine gun, (15) hunting rifles, quantities of ammunition, (12,055) liters of fuel, (18) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation, and (142) quintal of tobacco, during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the coast guards were able to thwart illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescue (10) individuals who were on board artisanal boats, while (512) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
