Major General Mohamed Salah BENBICHA, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, presides the opening ceremony of the national seminar entitled: “Global economic changes and national security of Algeria”
The Institute of the higher Studies in National Security organized today Monday 22nd April 2024, at the Army’s National Circle in Beni Messous/1°MR, a national seminar entitled: "Global economic changes and national security of Algeria", presided by Major General Mohamed Salah BENBICHA, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence.
This seminar was attended by members of the Government, Advisors to the President of the Republic, Forces Commanders, the Commander of the First Military Region, Chiefs of Departments and Central Directors of the Ministry of National Defence and of the General Staff of PNA and the Director of the National Institute for Global Strategy Studies.

For her part, Madam Director of the Institute of the higher Studies in National Security indicated that this national seminar aims to provide a strategic reading and a prospective vision capable of shedding light on the changes in the global economy.
The work of this seminar took place in the form of plenary conferences led by specialists in the field of the national economy, the challenges and the intensification of efforts to preserve macroeconomic balance without compromising national security; namely the modernization of the agricultural sector and the improvement of food security, the new sectors of change in the national economy, partnership with Africa (African continental free trade area), the new directions of the partnership with the European Union. Then, the work saw the holding of a workshop on the logic of transformation of the Algerian economy, followed by an open debate between the participants.
This national seminar aims to highlight the different aspects of global economic changes and their impacts on the national economy, and to build a vision capable of facing the challenges, through mastery of the new rules of the global economy and the identification of opportunities available to Algeria, the determination of the main risks and their repercussions on the economy and national security, as well as the adoption of a forward-looking vision regarding Algeria's economic trends.
