Operational Report of the PNA from 18th to 24th December 2024
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 18th to 24th December 2024, several operations which resulted in quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the People's National Army units, the terrorist named "Reggadi Sid Ahmed" known as "Abou El-Baraa" surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in his possession (1) Kalashnikov-type submachine gun, (4) 82mm mortar shells, a quantity of ammunition, and other items. Additionally, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (8) elements of support for terrorist groups in various operations.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (33) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (2) quintals and thirty-four (34) kilograms of treated kif from the border with Morocco. In addition, (3) FMPK-type machine guns, (2) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, and large quantities of psychotropic tablets, amounting to (2,460,875) pills, were seized during other separate operations.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (457) individuals and seized (59) vehicles, (296) generators, (212) jackhammers, (4) metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools, and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations. Similarly, (25) other individuals were arrested, and (12) hunting rifles, (2) automatic pistols, (41,340) litres of fuel, (128) quintals of tobacco, and (29) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during various operations.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard foiled, at the level of our national coasts, an illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (7) individuals on board home-built boats, while (44) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
