General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of PNA Staff presides over a ceremony of distinction in honor of the members of the military sports delegation that participated in the 2nd edition of the African Military Games
The General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People’s National Army Staff presided over today Monday, 2nd December, 2024 at the headquarters of Ministry of National Defence a welcoming and distinction ceremony in honor of the military sports delegation that took part in the 2nd edition of the African Military Games which took place in Abuja, Nigeria from 18th November to 30th 2024.
This ceremony of distinction follows the very honorable participation of the Algerian military sports delegation in this 2nd edition of the African Military Games, where our military delegation won 2nd place among the 22 participating countries.
During this ceremony, the General, made sure in his speech to convey the wishes of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence and to present his sincere congratulations to the members of the military sports delegation:
«Following your victorious return from Abuja and your honorable participation in the African Military Games, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you today, in this symbolic ceremony, and to convey to you the warmest congratulations of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence.
I would also like to present to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of all the personnel of People's National Army, my most sincere wishes for your distinguished participation and your return adorned by results by which you have honored your army and your country and which have found all the consideration and recognition from our people throughout the country.
You have bravely and deservedly snatched second place in the general ranking among the 22 participating countries. This represents qualitative and very convincing results, especially since they were achieved against competitive African military teams with extensive experience in this type of competition.
You have truly been the representative and ambassador of Algerian military sport and you have managed to deeply mark the pages of the history of these African military games with results in perfect cohesion with the message of peace and friendship contained in the slogan under which these games were held, and certainly in perfect harmony with the nobility of our noble national values. ».
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, affirmed that the High Command attaches major importance to military sports, before urging athletes to demonstrate love and loyalty to the homeland as this constitutes a real guarantee for success in all areas:
« You have illustrated, through these distinguished results, the major steps that military sport in Algeria has taken in various fields and disciplines, and this, thanks to the continuous support and unwavering support that the High Command of People's National Army has never ceased to grant to sports and physical preparation within People's National Army.
I would not fail, on this honorable occasion, to express my sincere thanks and my great gratitude to the supervisors, including the technical staff and the coaches, who were able to give the notion of love of the country all its meaning through their determination to succeed, confirming in this regard that the executives of military sports, who carry Algeria in their hearts, would not hesitate to win in all areas.
Indeed, the surest motivation to snatch victory and achieve success remains undoubtedly linked to love, fidelity and loyalty to the homeland. It is in this very fact that the sense of national duty and the sense of responsibility are manifested, which we constantly ensure to anchor in the minds of the personnel of People's National Army, worthy heir of the National Liberation Army, all ranks and categories combined.».
Afterwards, the General honored the members of the national military selections, before taking a souvenir photo at the end of this ceremony, to immortalize this event.
