The opening ceremony of the symposium, which was followed by the PNA executives across the six military regions via the videoconference system, was attended by the President of the Council of the Nation, the President of the PNA, the Prime Minister, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, members of the Government, advisers to the President of the Republic, the General Commander of the Republican Guard, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of Forces and the National Gendarmerie, the Commander of the 1st Military Region, Chief of Departments, Directors and Heads of central services of the Ministry of National Defense and PNA General Staff, moujahideen, national figures and academics and some directors of national media.
This symposium was opened by a speech by the General, in which he stressed that the Revolution of 1st November 1954, was a revolution for justice against injustice and tyranny and a triumph for human dignity:
"The organization of this historic symposium comes at a time when our country is still celebrating the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of our glorious Revolution of Liberation; a revolution, unique in its kind, which heralded a new era for Algeria, a human revolution, by its dimensions, noble by its values and principles, a revolution that inspired peoples subjected to the colonial yoke, a revolution that was triggered for justice against injustice and tyranny, and which was a triumph of human dignity. Once again, we congratulate our great people and all the peoples for whom the November Revolution served as a beacon and paved the way to freedom and independence."
On this occasion, the General mentioned the commemorative festivities of the 70th anniversary of the glorious November Revolution, which were intended to be worthy of this unique revolution:
"We wanted our celebration of the 70th anniversary of the glorious November Revolution to be on a par with the grandeur of the eternal date of 1st November, thanks to which our country regained its sovereignty by paying the high price of more than 5 million and 630 thousand martyrs, from the popular Resistance, through the Massacres of 8th May, 1945 to the glorious Revolution of Liberation. These martyrs irrigated every part of our blessed land with their pure blood.
We wanted the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of November to be exceptional, by organizing a military parade, both land, air and sea, presented by the successors of the martyrs and the moujahideen, who are the children and great-grandchildren of PNA, worthy heir of ALN, imbued with the values and principles of glorious November, such as sacrifice and devotion to the homeland and its flag.
Through this occasion, we also wanted to make our people aware of the levels reached by its Armed Forces, which remain the protective shield of the country, thanks to the attention paid by the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, who has always ensured the construction of our military potential, so that they are fully ready to defend our national sovereignty and our territorial integrity, in all circumstances and whatever the sacrifices to be made".
At the end of his speech, the General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of PNA Staff, announced the official opening of the seminar.
This symposium was punctuated by the screening of a documentary film entitled
"1st November 1954. Revolution of Challenge and Victory" produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication, followed by four conferences, led by university professors specializing in history, entitled respectively
