General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, makes a visit to the 1st Military Region
General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, today, Monday 23rd December 2024, carried out a working and inspection visit to the 1st Military Region, where he inspected the Major Telecommunications Works Regiment and the Cable Factory.
At the outset, after the welcome ceremony held by the Commander of the 1st Military Region and the Head of the Transmissions and Command-Control Systems Department at the Major Telecommunications Works Regiment, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA was given a comprehensive presentation on the activities of this regiment and the missions assigned to it by the Regiment's Commander. He also reviewed the various resources deployed in telecommunications works, including the available materials and equipment, and listened to detailed explanations provided by the Regiment's officers. On this occasion, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army issued a set of instructions and guidelines, particularly stressing the importance of maintaining the readiness of equipment and ensuring its regular maintenance to fully accomplish the assigned missions.
Subsequently, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA visited the Cable Factory, which is responsible for producing optical fibres and various fibre-optic cables to meet the needs of the People's National Army. The Head of the Transmissions and Command-Control Systems Department gave a presentation on the various activities of the Factory and its development prospects, especially with the launch of new production lines as part of the promising development of the Telecommunications Corps within the People's National Army. This is aimed at meeting the needs of the combat corps in telecommunications and adapting to the new challenges posed by the rapid technological advancements in this critical field.
General Saïd CHANEGRIHA also visited the cable production lines, where detailed explanations were provided regarding the equipment and advanced techniques used in the production lines, which are equipped with the latest digital automatic systems. These systems are operated by a team of officers, engineers, and technicians who have received specialized and in-depth training to master these systems and equipment. The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army also inquired about the technical specifications of the different cables produced by this manufacturing facility, the only one in the country producing optical fibre.
At the end of the visit, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA signed the guest books of both units.
