Operational Report of PNA from 11th to the 17th December 2024
In the dynamics of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 11th to the 17th December 2024, several operations which resulted in quality results that reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the units of the National People's Army, the terrorist named "Benkhia Kouali" known as "Khouzaïm", surrendered to the military authorities of Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th Military Region, in his possession one (1) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, a quantity of ammunition and other effects, while detachments of People’s National Army arrested (9) elements of support for terrorist groups in various operations.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the sustained efforts aimed at countering the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, (65) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (134) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, in addition to (1,710) grams of cocaine, and (376,917) psychotropic tablets seized during other separate operations.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (515) individuals and seized (56) vehicles, (344) generators, (200) jackhammers, (08) metal detectors as well as quantities of raw gold and stone mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations. Similarly, (19) other individuals were arrested and (13) hunting rifles, one (1) automatic pistol, (102130) liters of fuel, as well as (19) quintals of tobacco and (28) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized during various operations.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard foiled, at the level of our national coasts, an illegal emigration attempts and proceeded to the rescue of (88) individuals on board home-built boats, while (395) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
