6th day of the official visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
On the sixth day of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as representative of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff met today, Thursday, 8th February 2024, with the Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
Upon his arrival, and at the entrance to the General Staff Headquarters, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA was received by General Fayad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, where military training from various forces paid military honours, before holding a meeting in which senior military officials of the Saudi Armed Forces took part, alongside members of the military delegation accompanying the General, and during which the two The parties reviewed bilateral military relations and the means to consolidate military cooperation and consultation between the armies of the two brotherly countries.
On this occasion, the General delivered a speech, in which he saluted the distinguished welcome he received with the delegation accompanying him from the Saudi authorities, hoping that this visit would be crowned with results which serve the rapprochement which characterizes relations between the two brotherly countries:
« First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to you for the warm welcome you have given me and the delegation that accompanies me, an honourable opportunity that I take to convey the greetings of all the personnel of People's National Army to their counterparts in the Saudi Armed Forces, while hoping that this visit will be crowned with the expected results, in the service of our bilateral military cooperation and our fraternal rapprochement.
This rapprochement has resulted in numerous high-level visits and official meetings exchanged between our two armies, the latest of which was our last meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in April 2023, on the sidelines of the defence fair and security».
The General also wished all success and achievement at the World Defence Exhibition, before emphasizing the common desire of the armies of the two countries to establish a strategy of action in line with the will sincere from the leaders of the two countries:
«While sending to your Excellency our sincere thanks for the invitation you extended to us to take part in this second edition of the World Defense Exhibition in Riyadh, which, we hope, will be crowned with success and achievement, I would like to assure you of our complete determination to deploy all necessary efforts to define the fundamental axes capable of developing our common action strategy, and to determine the means which will enable it to achieve its objectives, profit and for the benefit of our two armies.
To conclude, we are fully convinced that this fraternal meeting that brought us together today will bring fruitful results for the future of our bilateral military relations, in accordance with the ambitious and sincere aspirations of the leaders of the two countries».
At the end of this meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts.
