Second day of the visit of General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff to the 6th Military Region
On the second and last day of his visit to the 6th Military Region in Tamanrasset, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, supervised this Tuesday, 27th February 2024, a tactical exercise with real munitions entitled “Hoggar Storm 2024”, executed by units of the Bordj Badji Mokhtar Operational Sector, supported by units from the different Arms.
The General had previously followed two presentations presented respectively by the Commander of the 6th Military Region and the Commander of the Operational Sector Bordj Badji Mokhtar, covering the general idea of the exercise, the stages of its progress and the expected objectives.
Subsequently, the General followed, at the level of the shooting and manoeuvring range of the said Sector, and in the company of Major General Mohamed ADJROUD, Commander of the 6th Military Region, the progress of the combat actions carried out by the units engaged. Actions characterized by great professionalism during all phases of the exercise, and a high tactical and operational level reflecting the combat ability of personnel and unit commanders on all levels, particularly in terms of exemplary exploitation of the field and perfect coordination between the different participating units. Exploits which also denote the competence of the executives in setting up and conducting the various combat operations, as well as the know-how and ability of the personnel to master the various weapon systems and equipment made available, thus contributing to the very satisfactory results recorded, as evidenced by the precision of the shots from the different weapons and the strict respect of the predefined plans and timing.
This exercise also included an air landing operation using helicopters of a Special Forces detachment under the protection of combat helicopters and a parachute operation deep into enemy defenses, the objective of which was to destroy the forces of an unconventional enemy. An aerial refueling operation for combat aircraft was also carried out during this exercise. These combat actions, carried out by the units engaged, bear witness to high professionalism and an advanced level of training and combat preparation of the various units of People's National Army.
At the end of the exercise, the General met the personnel of the units which took part in this tactical exercise, which was successful in all its aspects, particularly in terms of planning and preparation and execution, rightly reflecting the high degree of combat readiness of executives and personnel as well as the skills and know-how acquired by unit commanders and staffs. The General also congratulated the executives and staff of the units engaged in this exercise for the efforts made during the stages of its preparation and execution, reiterating his strong determination to deploy all the necessary efforts to guarantee permanent consolidation and sustained development of all the components of People's National Army.
At the end, the General inspected the units of the Bordj Badji Mokhtar Operational Sector and other formations which took part in this exercise.
