Operational report of PNA from 07th to 13th February 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 07thto 13th February2024, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the outstanding efforts of the units of People’s National Army, the two terrorists named "A. Taher" and "T. Sayed Ahmed" surrendered to the military authorities in the 6th Military Region, and were in their possession two (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, and a quantity of ammunition, while the terrorist named "K. Ahmed" was arrested in the same Military Region. The terrorists were active in the region of the Sahel.
In the same context detachments of People's National Army arrested (22) elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations accross the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People's National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the Military Regions, arrested (35) drug traffickers, including one (01) of Moroccan nationality who was arrested in Bashar , and was in possession of (207) kilograms of processed kif and (01) firearm, (138) kilograms of processed kif were also seized across the border with Morocco, in addition to (82,998) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guzam, detachments of the People's National Army arrested (230) individuals and seized (36) vehicles, (99) generators, and (76) jackhammers, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (30) other individuals were arrested and two (02) Kalashnikov machine guns, (10) hunting rifles, (03) automatic pistols, (18,311) Liters of fuel, and (33) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, (53) quintals of tobacco, and (13,836) units of various beverages, were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the coast guards were able to thwart illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts by (28) people who were on board artisanal boats, while (279) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
