Operational report of PNA from 14th to 20th February 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 14th to 20th February 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (02) elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory, while another detachment discovered and destroyed, during a search operation in Tissemsilt, (02) casemates for terrorists, (05) homemade bombs and other effects.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (35) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce, via the borders with Morocco, immense quantities of drugs amounting to (59,304) kilograms of cocaine, (15) quintals and ( 32) kilograms of treated kif, as well as (88644) psychotropic tablets.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (286) individuals and seized (45) vehicles, (120) generators, (62) jackhammers, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (45) other individuals were intercepted and (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (22) hunting rifles, (01) automatic pistol, (27,112) litters of fuel, (91) tons of foodstuffs intended for the smuggling and speculation, (20) quintals of tobacco and (6760) units of various beverages were seized in separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts of (50) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (384) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
