Operational Report of PNA from 21st to 27th February 2024
Within the dynamic of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 21st to 27th February 2024, several operations which led to high quality results which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (29) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations across the country.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (68) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (05) quintals and (29) kilograms of treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (127547) psychotropic tablets were been seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Illizi, PNA detachments arrested (153) individuals and seized (43) vehicles, (86) generators, (38) jackhammers, (03) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (41) other individuals were intercepted and one (01) submachine gun type FMPK, (02) submachine guns type Kalashnikov, (29) hunting rifles, (09) automatic pistols, (66,397) litters of fuel , (09) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (18) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts of (23) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (621) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
