General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff on a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region
As part of the inspection visits to the different Military Regions, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff began, this Monday, 15th January 2024, a work and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran.
After the welcoming ceremony by Major General Mohammed Tayeb BRAKNI, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of the late Moujahid Ahmed BOUDJENANAE, known as Si Abbès, whose headquarters Command is baptized in his name, he laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele, before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of our valiant Chouhada.
During his meeting with the executives and personnel of the 2nd Military Region, the General delivered an orientation speech, broadcast by videoconference through all the units of the Region, in which he stressed that Algeria, which suffered the horrors of colonialism, will remain faithful to its positions towards just causes throughout the world, led by the Palestinian and Sahrawi questions:
“Concerning this central and intangible issue in our foreign policy, Algeria's support was clear, reflected in the official declarations of the country's high authorities, condemning the attacks against the Palestinian people, and the decision to welcome the wounded, notably children, in national hospitals, and sending humanitarian and medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
Indeed, Algeria has made a commitment to support just causes, like the Sahrawi and Palestinian causes because it itself has suffered the horrors of colonialism and which it esteem at its fair value. the support shown by the free people of this world for its cause and its legitimate right to self-determination. It is for this same reason that it is fighting, today, by all means, while respecting international legality, to find solutions to all just questions.”
The General praised the major steps taken by our country in recent years, calling on all patriots to join the project of rebirth of the new Algeria:
“With the aim of thwarting all hostile designs, which aim at the security and stability of our country, sincere patriots are called to consent and unite all efforts, while adhering to the project of rebirth of the new Algeria, led with rigor, perseverance and strong determination by Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence who, in his referential and historical speech, before the deputies of the two chambers of Parliament, highlighted , with supporting figures, the major steps taken by our country, during the last four years, on the path to development and progress. Within the People's National Army we are entirely confident in the success of this sincere national process, in the service of the country and the citizen."
At the end, the General followed with interest the interventions of the executives of the Region, before giving them instructions and orientations, particularly on the need to rigorously continue the combat preparation efforts under of the current year 2023-2024, aiming to maintain the operational availability of all units of the 2nd Military Region.
