General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of PNA, on a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region
In continuation of the working and inspection visit to the Second Military Region, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, moved yesterday evening, Monday 15th January 2024, to the Main Naval Base of Mers El-Kébir, where he was received by Major-General Mahfoud BEN MEDAH, Commander of the Naval Forces.
During this visit, General listened to a presentation by Major General, Commander of the Naval Forces, followed by a detailed presentation by the Director General of the Shipbuilding and Repair Firm on the status of progress of the ongoing projects, before making an inspection tour of the establishment’s marine construction series and reviewing the progress of the projects under completion. As well as marine units and ships belonging to national economic institutions under repair.
After that, General supervised the inauguration and naming ceremony of the first Tug manufactured at the level of the Marine Construction and Repair establishment, and put it into service, before inspecting this new achievement with which our Naval Forces were enforced within the framework of the program to modernize and upgrade our naval fleet, where he toured the various sections of the ship, he looked closely at all its parts, and listened to comprehensive explanations about its tasks, components, and characteristics, provided by the team in charge of completion.
On this occasion, General congratulated all the personnel involved in this important achievement, providing a number of instructions and directives to executives regarding the necessity of preserving, maintaining and exploiting it in accordance with applicable standards. In turn, the members of the team in charge of manufacturing the Tug expressed their happiness and pride in this achievement, which will constitute a qualitative addition to the fleet of our Naval Forces, before everyone took a souvenir photo with General, Chief of Staff of People's National Army.
