Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervises the ceremony of the 51st edition of the final of the Algerian Military Football Cup
Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, supervised this Tuesday, 30th January 2024, the ceremony of the final of the Algerian Military Football Cup, in its 51st edition, at Center for Regrouping and Preparing Military Sports Teams in Ben Aknoun Boudjriou Messaoud in the 1st Military Region, where he was received by General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff and Mr. Prime Minister Nadir LARBAOUI.
At the start and after the welcome ceremony, Mr. President of the Republic listened to the national anthem and received the honours rendered by the different formations of the Forces of People's National Army, to then render the salute to the welcoming delegation, namely the General , Commander of the Republican Guard, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Force Commanders and the National Gendarmerie, the Commander of the 1st Military Region, the chief of the Employment-Preparation Department of the General Staff of People's National Army and the chief of the Military Sports Service.
In the lounge of honour of the Military Sports Center, Mr. President followed an exhaustive presentation on military sports, presented by the General, chief of Military Sports Service of the Employment-Preparation Department of the General Staff of People’s National Army. Then, those present followed a documentary film, produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication of the General Staff of People's National Army, on the Center for Regrouping and Preparation of Military Sports Teams and on the results of brilliant military athletes recorded during this sports season. On this occasion, the President of the Republic congratulated the national military and civilian sports teams, wishing them more victories and positive results which honour our national emblem.
At the end, the President of the Republic, accompanied by the General, Chief of People’s National Army Staff, joined the official stand of the Stadium of the Center, where he gave the official launch. sending of the final which brought together the teams of the Land Forces Command and the 1st Military Region, in the presence of the Prime Minister, members of the Government and advisors of the Presidency of the Republic as well as the Directors and the chiefs of the Central Services of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of the People's National Army and some guests.
The first period of these final saw almost equal chances between the two teams, until the referee announced half-time as a negative tie. The second phase did not change the scenario of the game also ending with a negative result, leading the two teams to penalties which swung the score towards the side of the First Military Region team with five goals against four registered by the selection of the Land Forces Command, thus offering the title of the Algerian Military Cup, in its 51st edition, to the selection of the 1st Military Region.
At the end of the match, the President of the Republic presented the medals to the two finalist teams and awarded the Algerian Military Cup to the winning team.
On the sidelines of this final, the President of the Republic honoured a group of athletes and military sports teams who stood out during this season in various disciplines at the national and international levels with very positive results reflecting the great capabilities and the high professional level achieved by military sports teams. At the end, the President of the Republic took a souvenir photo with the honoured athletes before signing the guestbook of the Center for the Regroupment and Preparation of Sports Teams.
