Operational Report of PNA from 01st to 09th January, 2024
Within the framework of their sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and multi-faceted organised crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out several operations during the period from 1st to 9th January 2024. These operations produced high-quality results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance and permanent readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army (04) arrested terrorist groups’ elements of support during separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the sustained efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the Military Regions, arrested (61) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to introduce (06) quintals and (18) kilograms of treated kif across the border with Morocco, while (8.3) kilograms of cocaine and (1,202,231) psychotropic tablets were seized.
n Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezam and Djanet, detachments of People's National Army arrested (208) individuals and seized (48) vehicles, (232) generators, (124) jackhammers, (24) metal detectors, and (46) quintals of raw gold and stones, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonation tools, and equipment used in illegal gold mining operations, while (59) other individuals were arrested and two (02) Kalashnikov machine guns, (31) hunting rifles, and (01) pistol, (47,968) liters of fuel, (271) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, (15) quintals of tobacco, and (13,462) units of various beverages, during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the coastguards thwarted clandestine emigration attempts along the national coastline and rescued (14) individuals on board artisanal boats, while (339) clandestine immigrants of various nationalities were arrested throughout the country.
