Operational report of PNA from 10th to 16th January 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 10th to 16th January 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of People's National Army arrested two (02) support elements for terrorist groups in Oran, while one (01) Casemate containing various effects was discovered and destroyed in Bouira.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (47) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (04) quintals and (15) kilograms of treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (644129) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Illizi, PNA detachments arrested (113) individuals and seized (54) vehicles, (145) generators, (65) jackhammers, (04) metal detectors, (83) quintals of mixture of raw gold and stones, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (31) other individuals were intercepted and (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (13) hunting rifles, (01) semi-automatic rifle, (129,259) litters of fuel, (50) tonnes of foodstuffs intended to smuggling and speculation, (58) quintals of tobacco and (6606) units of various drinks were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard thwarted, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts by (28) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (267) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
