Operational report of PNA from 17th to 23rd January 2024
Within the dynamic of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army carried out, during the period from 17th to 23rd January 2024, several operations which led to high quality results that reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (03) elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations, while another detachment discovered and seized, during an operation search and search in In Guezzam, (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, one (01) machine gunner type FN-Herstal as well as a quantity of ammunition of different calibres.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (86) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (94) kilograms of treated kif from the borders with Morocco, while (96041) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Djanet and In Guezzam, PNA detachments arrested (42) individuals and seized (24) vehicles, (100) generators, (63) jackhammers, (06) metal detectors, (82) quintals of mixture of raw gold and stones, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (30) other individuals were intercepted and (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (10) hunting rifles, (17,834) liters of fuel, (78) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation, (5.5) quintals of tobacco and (17,176) units of various beverages were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, combined detachments of People's National Army apprehended (912) illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
