President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence presides over the Graduation Ceremony at the Cherchell Military Academy “late President Houari Boumediene”.
Crowning the annual graduation ceremonies at the level of the training establishments of the People's National Army, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence presided, this Monday, 1st July, 2024, at the level of the Cherchell Military Academy “the late President Houari Boumediene”, the annual graduation ceremony of the 55th promotion of basic training, the 17th promotion of common basic military training and the 8th promotion of officers from the Master cycle.
Mr. President of the Republic was welcomed, at the main entrance of the Academy, by the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, accompanied by Major General Ali SIDANE , Commander of the 1st Military Region and Major General Salmi BACHA, Commander of the Cherchell Military Academy. At the start and after the welcome ceremony, Mr. President of the Republic listened to the national anthem and received the honours rendered by the different formations of the Forces of People's National Army, to then render the salute to the welcoming delegation, namely the General, Commander of the Republican Guard, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence and the Force Commanders and the National Gendarmerie.
At the entrance to the Academy, Mr. President of the Republic observed a moment of contemplation in tribute to the late President “Houari Boumediene” whose name is borne by the Military Academy of Cherchell, to then lay a wreath of flowers on the commemorative stele and recite the Fatiha on one's pure soul, before following a presentation on the Academy, the training course provided and the outgoing promotions.
Subsequently, and at the parade ground, the President of the Republic chaired the graduation ceremony for new promotions for the 2023-2024 school year, at the start of which he spent time in reviewed the squares of the military formations aligned at the parade ground, before the General, Chief of People's National Army Staff, delivered a speech in which he thanked Mr. President of the Republic for supervising the graduation ceremony for promotions from the Cherchell Military Academy, coinciding with the festivities commemorating the 62nd anniversary of Independence and the recovery of national sovereignty. This training citadel which, like the other training structures of the PNA, ensures the consolidation of ranks by executives armed with various sciences and knowledge, imbued with nationalist and republican principles and values, aware of the different contexts and changes that knows the world today
In this regard, the General welcomed the release of the first class of female officer cadets for the benefit of the Land Forces Command who will be directed to exercise at the battle corps level, which reflects the high degree of professionalism achieved by our Army and the serious preparation of skills among women and men to bear the responsibility of defending the homeland.
The General highlighted, at the same time, the initiatives taken by our country under the command of the President of the Republic on the diplomatic and military levels to help neighboring countries regain their stability and preserve their territorial and popular unity and which has materialized in particular through aid programs and the granting of educational places at the different levels for the benefit of personnel from friendly armies as well as the delivery of humanitarian aid.
For his part, the Commander of the Cherchell Military Academy, stressed that the Academy is today experiencing the release of a new elite of executives from the People's National Army who have benefited from scientific military training of quality, shaped by exemplary military conduct and imbued with patriotism, strong determination and self-sacrifice in the service of the Nation, which makes them capable of carrying out their future missions with merit and aptitude.
After the taking of the oath by the graduated promotions, the President of the Republic proceeded to award the grades and diplomas to the first winners of the promotions, by presenting the diploma to the valedictorian of the Master cycle, then the rank of Deputy. Lieutenant and the sword of the Academy to the valedictorian of Basic Training. He also presented the diploma to the valedictorian of the Common Basic Military Training from sister and friendly countries, before inviting the delegation accompanying him to present the diplomas and grades to the other laureates.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of the Academy standard by the graduated promotion of active officers to the promotion which succeeds it, before the Major of the 55th promotion of Basic Training submitted to the approval of the President of the Republic the baptism of the promotion in the name of the late Moudjahid “Colonel Youcef El-Khatib”, by presenting a short biography of the deceased.
The formation squares then took up position at the starting point of the parade, giving way to combat sports exhibitions such as Karate, Kung-fu, taekwondo as well as overall sports movements with and without weapons, bodybuilding and jumping exercises on fire, before reconstituting figures with the national colours, followed by a demonstrative combat exercise relating to an ambush and assault section executed by a combined detachment.
The promotions release ceremony also saw the participation of the Air Force through the execution of aerial figures performed by different combat aircraft squadrons and the execution of an in-flight refuelling exercise for fighter aircraft. The President of the Republic subsequently followed the live broadcast on a giant screen of a demonstrative exercise carried out by our Naval Forces, entitled: “Demonstrative tactical exercise simulating an intervention and inspection operation of a ship suspect sailing along the national coastline.
Subsequently, and after a parachute jump exhibition, the National Flag Guard took the lead in a military parade followed by squares of career cadet officers from Basic Basic and Common Military Training, against a background of military music performed by a troop of the Republican Guard.
In addition, the President of the Republic followed at the educational complex “Didouche Mourad” the activities of the scientific exhibition organized by Student Officers of the graduated promotions.
At the end, the President of the Republic honoured the family of the late Moudjahid “Colonel Youcef El-Khatib”, before initialing the Golden Book of the Academy.
