Second day of the visit of the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, to the 5th Military Region.
On the second day of his visit to the 5th Military Region, the General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, supervised, today 5th June, 2024, at the firing range of the Eastern Maritime Facade of Jijel, the conduct of a naval tactical exercise “Diraa El-Mouatwassit - 2024”, including an anti-surface missile firing and special exercises off the sea.
Accompanied by Major General Mahfoud BENMEDAH, Commander of the Naval Forces and Major General Noureddine HAMBLI, Commander of the 5th Military Region, the General followed a presentation at the main naval base Jijel on this exercise presented by the Commander of the Eastern Maritime Facade. Subsequently, and on board the command and deployment ship of the Forces "Kalaat Beni-Abbès", the General , Chief of People's National Army Staff followed the progress of the exercise anti-surface missile firing executed by The floating units reporting to the Eastern Maritime Façade, which demonstrated high professionalism, reflected in perfect cohesion between the engaged formations and careful execution of the various planned stages, The latter was crowned with the distraction of the target with high resolution, which reflects the good preparation of the forces engaged in this exercise.
The General also followed the execution of special exercises off the sea, where the crews demonstrated discipline and rigorous respect for the plans drawn up, as well as perfect mastery of the different weapons. and equipment, which confirms the level of development and operational availability achieved by the units of the Algerian Naval Forces in recent years.
At the end, the General of the Army inspected the units participating in this exercise.
In addition, the General inaugurated, yesterday afternoon, the Regional Logistics Base of the Capacity of the North Africa Region in Jijel, which constitutes one of the strategic mechanisms of the African Union for the management and conflict resolution, as well as for the establishment of regional and continental peace and security.
On this occasion, the General followed a presentation on this regional logistics base, before meeting its executives and staff, who displayed their commitment to honouring the PNA and Algeria within the framework of this important mechanism.
