General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, supervises the execution of a tactical exercise in the 5th Military Region
During the third and final day of his field visit to the Fifth Military Region, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, on 6th June 2024, at the Fifth Shooting and Maneuvering polygon in Amdocal, supervised the implementation of a tactical exercise with live ammunition entitled “El-AZM-2024”, carried out by units of the First Armored Division, supported by units from the Air Force and technical support units.
The General initially followed a presentation delivered by the exercise director, Commander of the 1st Armored Division, which included the general idea and stages of the exercise execution, which falls within the framework of implementing the Force preparation program for the year 2023-2024.
At the Fifth Shooting and Maneuvers polygon, accompanied by the Commander of the Fifth Military Region, Major General Noureddine HAMBLI, the General closely followed the course of the exercise, which was carried out in conditions close to reality, in accordance with the established plan, and in line with the established objectives, which are mainly represented in refining the skills of the Commanders and Staff in The field of preparing and organizing combat actions and coordination between various forces, as well as providing field commanders with experience in controlling units, by enhancing harmony, coordination and cooperation between units and sub-units, and enabling crews to control weapons systems, as well as testing operational readiness and the extent of the ability to carry out the combat actions and the assigned tasks in various circumstances. This exercise also included a parachute landing in the depth of the enemy.
The execution of this exercise clearly confirmed the ability of the participating units in the field of planning, preparation and successful implementation of the assigned tasks, which constitutes another success and the fruit of the crews’ good control over various weapons and modern equipment with advanced technology.
At the end of the exercise, the General met with the commanders and personnel of the units participating in this exercise, and via videoconference, with the command and personnel of the Naval Forces units that participated in the naval tactical exercise « Diraa El-Mouatwassit – 2024 », where he congratulated them on the great efforts they made throughout the year of combat preparation, as well as during the preparation and implementation of these two exercises, praising the capabilities of the participating units in understanding the objectives of these exercises, and the clear seriousness that characterized the various stages of their implementation on the field, which are positive and encouraging indicators that reflect the extent of readiness reached by the units of the Fifth Military Region in particular and People’s National Army various units and formations, in general.
In conclusion, the General inspected the participating units, which presented him with the honors.
