Within the framework of his visit to the 2nd Military Region, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff supervised, yesterday evening, 22nd May 2024, at the 2nd Polygon of Shooting and Manoeuvre of Rdjem Demmouche, a night tactical exercise with live fire, entitled: “CHIHAB-2024”, executed by units of the 38th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, supported by units from different Forces and technical support units, Air and Territory Air Defence.
In this context, the General followed the presentations presented respectively by the Commander of the 2nd Military Region and the Commander of the 38th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, covering the general idea of the exercise and its execution phases.
Then, at the 2nd Firing and Manoeuvring Polygon, the General closely followed the progress of the exercise, carried out at night, in conditions close to real, in accordance with the established plan. The objectives of this exercise were to improve the skills of commanders and staff in the preparation and organization of night combat actions and coordination between the different forces, in addition to providing unit commanders with experience necessary for the conduct of units, through coordination and collaboration between units and elementary units, and for crews to have greater mastery of weapon systems, and to assess operational availability and the ability to carry out, and in all circumstances, the night combat missions.


The execution of this exercise highlighted the units' ability to successfully accomplish the assigned tasks, as well as the crews' mastery of the high-tech weapons and equipment at their disposal. It also demonstrated the development and operational availability achieved by our armed forces in recent years.
During the debriefing organized at the end of this exercise, the General congratulated the personnel of the units engaged, for the enormous efforts they made throughout the year of combat preparation, as well as during preparation and execution of this exercise. In this context, it valued the results recorded which were in accordance with the objectives set, as well as with the nature of the main missions assigned in the territory of competence. Subsequently, the General reviewed the units and formations engaged in this exercise.

Yesterday afternoon, the General inaugurated the Central Fuel Depot in Mesbah. After the welcome ceremony, accompanied by the Commander of the 2nd MR, and the central directors of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of PNA, the General followed an exhaustive presentation on this important unit, in particular the missions assigned to it in the fuel supply chain for the benefit of the various units and formations of PNA, deployed in 2nd MR. After the inauguration of this unit, the General inspected its various services, infrastructures and workshops and received explanations on their missions.
On this occasion, the General underlined the importance given by the PNA high command to fuel support units, which are the artery that supplies the battle Corps with energy. He also urged managers and staff on the need to ensure their rational management and maintenance, to enable them to fully accomplish their assigned missions.
