General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, made a working visit to the 1st Military Region this Saturday, 18th May, 2024, where he supervised a tactical exercise with live ammunition. Al-Hisn-2024”, at the level of the 1st firing and manoeuvring range in the 1st Military Region, executed by units of the 12th Mechanized Infantry Division and units relevant to the Republican Guard Command, as well as a training exercise. Sports parachute jump, performed by the national women's military team, at the Ain-Oussara Air Base.
After the welcome ceremony, at the firing and manoeuvring range in the 1st Military Region, the General accompanied by Major General Ali SIDANE, Commander of the 1st Military Region, followed a detailed presentation presented by the director of the exercise, covering the general idea and the stages of execution of the latter.
Then, the General closely followed the various combat actions, which were characterized, during all their phases, by high professionalism and a tactical level, which confirm the rigor in terms of planning and execution, and reflect the competence of the executives in setting up and conducting the various combat actions, as well as the mastery, by the personnel, of the weapon systems and equipment made available. This contributed to the achievement of the objectives set out for this exercise, as part of strengthening the operational availability of our Armed Forces.






At the end of the exercise, the General congratulated the personnel of the units engaged for the efforts made during this exercise, emphasizing the capital importance of the preparation and execution of exercises of different echelons, as well as plans for the effective improvement of the combat level. The General then gave a set of instructions and guidelines relating, in particular, to the need to objectively evaluate the results of this exercise, to obtain the expected results.
At the Ain-Oussara Air Base, the General supervised a sports parachute jump exercise, performed by the national women's military team, which was preceded by a brief presentation on its phases of execution, presented by the Chief of the Military Sports Service.
This exercise, attended by female military personnel from different PNA training establishments, as well as cadets of the Nation, saw the presentation of several demonstrations, including a tactical jump exercise, a sports jump , a precise parachute drop, with parachute folding demonstrations. These demonstrations were executed with high precision and coordination, which reflect the level and remarkable progress achieved by this team in terms of preparation and training.
At the end, the General met the members of the national female military parachute jumping team, where he reiterated his consideration and support for the efforts made by the female personnel in the ranks of the PNA, in the different fields and specialties of the profession of arms. The General also congratulated the female athletes and their technical staff for the success of this exercise:
“It is pleasant for me, on the occasion of supervising the execution of the sports parachute jump exercise, by the national women's military team, to express my satisfaction with the level reached by this team which, in a fairly short time, has become an example of will and success and a model of inspiration for the female military personnel of the PNA, who aspire to integrate, with force, all areas of the profession of arms, without exception.
As such, I would like to salute the courage and strong determination of the members of this team, wishing them every success in their professional and sporting careers and urging them to honour the national colours during the continental and international sporting events which expect soon.
This team rightly reflects what the PNA harbours in terms of ambitious talents and skills, which contribute with rigor and dedication to efforts to strengthen the availability and ready state of our Armed Forces. Likewise, it highlights the diversity that characterizes our army and the desire of its personnel, men and women, to move forward on the path of expected development and modernization and to deploy all efforts to honour the country and raise its profile among the nations.”
It is important to emphasize that this parachute jump exercise is part of the preparations of the women's national team for upcoming national and international military sporting events and competitions.
