Operation report of PNA from 1st to 7th May 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 1st to 7th May 2024, several operations leading to quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People’s National Army killed in Bordj Badji Mokhtar the terrorist called "D. Omar", who owns an (01) automatic gun and a quantity of ammunition.
In the same wake, detachments of People’s National Army intercepted twenty-one (21) elements of support for terrorist groups, during separate operations across the national territory, while seven (07) casemates and nine (09) Homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed respectively in Batna and Boumerdes.
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (27) drug traffickers, and foiled attempts to introduce (182) kilograms of Treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (117) grams of cocaine and (36 526) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In-Salah and In Guezzam, PNA detachments arrested (375) individuals and seized (45) vehicles, (192) generators, (113) jackhammers and (03) Metal detectors, as well as quantities of raw gold stones mixture, explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (16) other individuals were intercepted and (09) hunting rifles and (150 469) liters of fuel and (80) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (122) quintals of Tabaco were seized in separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard foiled, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts by (171) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (289) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
