Operation report of PNA from 8th to 14th May 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 8th to 14th May 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, the terrorist "O. CHIDA" called " Abdelhak " surrendered himself to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in possession of (01) Kalashnikov-type machine gun and a quantity of ammunition, while detachments of People's National Army arrested (09) members of support for terrorist groups during operations Scattered across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People's National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the Military Regions, arrested (110) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to bring (310) kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco, while (3,370) kilograms of cocaine and (194,279) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guzam, detachments of People's National Army arrested (326) individuals and seized (56) vehicles, (132) generators, (107) jackhammers, and (12) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (39) other individuals were arrested, (11) hunting rifles, (06) automatic pistols, (57,788) liters of fuel, (81) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation, and (77) quintals of tobacco, were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the coast guards were able to thwart illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts by (26) individuals who were on board artisanal boats, while (157) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
