Operation report of PNA from 22nd to 28th May 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 22nd to 28th May 2024, several operations that resulted in qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism and constant vigilance and readiness of our armed forces throughout the national territory:
Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, and following a search and combing operation in Djbel Tamoulga, wilaya of Chlef , a detachment of People's National Army eliminated the two (02) terrorists " Kachkouche Abdelkader " called " Abou Djafaar " and " Khaloufi Abdelkader", and recovered two (02) Kalashnikov-type machine gun and a quantity of ammunition and other diversed.
In the same context, the terrorist “Mellouki Sid Ammar” called “Omar,” surrendered himself to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in possession of one (01) Kalashnikov-type machine gun and a quantity of ammunition, while (06) members of support for terrorist groups were arrested during separate operations across the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of the People's National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions, arrested (51) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to bring (722) kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco, while (461,356) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guzam, detachments of People's National Army arrested (323) individuals and seized (32) vehicles, (245) generators, (144) jackhammers, and (15) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations, while (20) other individuals were arrested and (01) FMPK machine gun, (03) Kalashnikov machine pistols, (04) hunting rifles, (06) automatic pistols, and (99,128) liters of fuel and (142) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation, and this was during separate operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, the coast guards were able to thwart illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts by (126) individuals who were on board artisanal boats, while (584) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
