General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff on an official visit to Qatar
During the second day of his visit to the brotherly state of Qatar, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, chief of People's National Army Staff took part today, 4th March 2024, in the opening ceremony of the 8th Edition of the International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference in Doha "DIMDEX-2024".
At the end of the official opening ceremony of this global event, which took place under the supervision of the Vice Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Ben Hamad Al Thani, the General visited, with the accompanying delegation, some stands of the exhibition, starting with the Qatari pavilion, where he inquired about the materials and equipment exhibited, like the weapons and weapons systems of high technology and carefully followed the detailed explanations and presentations provided by those responsible for the Qatari pavilion.
The General also had a fraternal meeting with Lieutenant General Salem Ben Hamed Al-Nabit, Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces Staff, during which the two parties discussed the state military cooperation between the armies of the two countries and the means to bring it up to the level of the excellent relations between Algeria and Qatar, and to the level of the aspirations of the leaders of the two brotherly countries.
On this occasion, the General delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to the Qatari side for the invitation extended to him to visit the State of Qatar. A visit which is part of the dynamics experienced by bilateral relations between the two parties:
"First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks for the invitation you extended to us to attend the 8th Edition of the International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference in Doha "DIMDEX-2024" and for the warm welcome and hospitality you have given us since our arrival in Qatar. In Algeria, we consider Qatar as a brotherly country and a reliable partner, and we attach great importance to strengthening our bilateral cooperation relations in various fields, as well as to exchanging views on common interest issues and maintaining permanent coordination.
This visit is part of the dynamic of the visits I made to Qatar in 2022 and the one you made to Algeria last year. It constitutes a new opportunity to work together to achieve the aspirations of our two countries and to realize multidimensional military cooperation beneficial to our respective armies, particularly with regard to the exchange of experiences and professional practices in the areas of security and defence".
The General also expressed the desire of the People's National Army to strengthen ties of cooperation with the Qatari Armed Forces, wishing all success to the exhibition:
"In conclusion, I would like to thank you again for your kind invitation to attend the Eighth Edition of this prestigious international event, which I hope to see successful, like the previous editions. I would like to conclude by assuring you, once again, of our readiness, within the People's National Army, to move forward alongside our brothers in the Qatari Armed Forces on the path of strengthening cooperation ties, within the framework of the multidimensional convergence experienced by our two countries".
For his part, the Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces Staff, Lieutenant General Salem Ben Hamed Al-Nabit, saluted the level of bilateral military cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, expressing his gratitude to the General for responding to the invitation. At the end, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts.
