General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff, on a working and inspection visit to the Air Forces Command

As part of his visits to the various components of People's National Army during the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, paid a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the Air Forces Command on Sunday 17th March 2024.

This visit is part of the special monitoring by the High Command of People's National Army of the implementation of the combat readiness programme for 2023/2024, as well as the consolidation of the approach of direct communication with personnel and listening to their concerns.

After the welcoming ceremony, at the Command Headquarters, given by Major General Mahmoud LARABA, Commander of the Air Forces, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of the Chahid and hero "Amirouche Aït Hamouda", Commander of the historical Wilaya III , whose name the headquarters of the Air Forces Command bears, and laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.

The General then met with the executives and staff of the Air Forces Command. On this occasion, he gave an orientation speech which was followed by the personnel of all the units of this Command by videoconference. In his address, the General stressed that maintaining troop morale at high levels is an absolute priority, and that faith in the cause is an essential condition for the accomplishment of assigned missions:

"For us in People's National Army, maintaining troop morale at high levels is an absolute priority, because we are convinced that the development, power and victories of armies are essentially due to morale.
Fulfilling one's responsibilities cannot depend solely on a military’s scientific and cognitive skills, or on the material resources made available to him. The most important factor is the military's faith in his cause, whatever the circumstances. In this sense, they are obliged to spare no effort to serve their unit, their army and their country and to honour their commitments, whatever the sacrifices involved".

The General also stated that to win the challenge of power and efficiency, it is necessary to succeed in leading people:

"To meet the challenge of power and efficiency, it is essential to succeed in leading people. This involves management, making resources available and combining efforts to accomplish the missions entrusted to us. It's a responsibility as noble as it is important. It is a responsibility which essentially requires the manager to rise to the level of his obligations, and to devote the necessary attention to his subordinates, particularly in terms of training and instruction.
Awareness of the sensitivity of missions, their national scope and their noble objectives are factors capable of giving military personnel the moral capacity to ensure that People's National Army continues its march towards development and modernisation, particularly in the light of the current international and regional context, which calls on us all to show greater determination, perseverance and awareness of the challenges imposed".

At the end of the meeting, the General received a comprehensive presentation from the Commander of the Air Forces on the various areas of activity relating to the implementation of the Air Forces development plan. On this occasion, the General gave a series of recommendations relating in particular to the need to continue efforts to prepare units and personnel for combat, in accordance with the established plans and programmes, while ensuring the regular maintenance and optimum use of the aircraft and major resources made available.
