As part of the interest accorded by the High Command of People's National Army to the professional and operational conditions of its personnel, and in the continuity of its inspection visits to the different components of PNA, On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, carried out, this Tuesday, 26th March 2024, a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the Territory Air Defence Forces Command.
After the welcome ceremony at the entrance to the headquarters of the Territory Air Defence Command, the General accompanied by Major General Abdelaziz HOUAM, Commander of the Territory Air Defence Forces, observed a moment of meditation in memory of Chahid DEGHINE Ben Ali, known as “SI LOTFI”, whose headquarters the Command bears the name, before laying a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele, and reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of all the brave Chouhada.
Subsequently, the General met the executives and staff of the Territory Air Defence Forces Command, where he delivered an orientation speech, followed by the staff of the units of this Armed Forces via videoconference, at through which he underlined the importance that People's National Army attaches to the control of airspace, considered a decisive factor in achieving air superiority and winning modern battles:

“Within the People's National Army, we are fully aware of the importance of the radical change in the nature and of modern battles theatre, where airspace now unquestionably occupies the forefront of operations, and has thus become an operational criterion of major importance and a decisive factor capable of tipping the balance of wars and not just winning battles. Indeed, whoever controls the airspace holds the factors and conditions for victory. Now, this space is the environment in which we must record our first victories by winning the challenge of development and the challenge of air superiority. "
The General stressed that the personnel of the Territory Air Defence Forces must constantly ensure the preparation and optimization of operational availability to preserve the integrity of the national airspace:
“The Command, the executives and the personnel of the Territory Air Defence Forces are called upon to grasp the extent of the responsibility that falls to them, by ensuring the operational preparation of the units, the rigorous surveillance of our airspace and the improvement the operational availability of the means made available.
It is also up to them to give training and combat preparation the attention and monitoring they require, in order to guarantee good adaptation to the requirements of modern technologies and prepare a qualified and specialized human resource, capable of face all possible eventualities and ensure flawless defence of our airspace. »
The General then followed with great attention the interventions of the executives of the Territory Air Defence Command and gave those instructions and guidance on, in particular, the need to continue combat preparation efforts with all the rigor and seriousness required, in order to maintain the operational availability of the units at the highest level.
At the end, the General chaired the inauguration ceremony of a new military barracks under the Territory Air Defence Forces Command, where a detailed presentation was presented to him by the commander of the unit, before visiting its various infrastructures, and inquiring about the working and living conditions it offers to staff.
