In the dynamic of his visits to the different components of the People's National Army during the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, carried out this Tuesday, 19TH March 2024, a working and inspection visit to the Naval Forces Command, where he held a meeting with executives and staff.
After the welcome ceremony, given by Major General Mahfoudh BENMADAH, Commander of the Naval Forces, the General observed a moment of silence in memory of the valiant Chahid "Souidani Boudjemaa", whose headquarters of the Naval Forces Command bears his name. On this occasion, he laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele and recited the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.
Subsequently, the General held a meeting with the executives and staff of the Naval Forces Command, during which he delivered an orientation address broadcast to all schools and units of the Naval Forces via videoconference . The General of the Army expressed his wishes to the audience on the occasion of Victory Day corresponding to 19th March of each year, inviting them to reflect in the memory of all the martyrs of Algeria :
“At a time when our dear country celebrates the anniversary of Victory Day, corresponding to 19th March of each year, duty calls upon us to bow with respect and humility to the memory of our virtuous Chouhada, who succeeded one another in the Shahada since abject colonialism set foot on the land of Algeria, as well as in the memory of the martyrs of national duty who stood up against barbaric terrorism, showing great patriotism and courage exceptional, and made the supreme sacrifice to preserve the independence of Algeria and its republican character."
The General also affirmed that the executives and personnel of the Algerian Naval Forces must achieve the highest levels of readiness by demonstrating rigor in the execution of assigned missions:
“Given the specificity of the missions entrusted to the Naval Forces, linked to the privileged geographical position of our country, which overlooks the western basin of the Mediterranean, historically marked by its strategic and vital character, not only as being a main route of the international trade and a human crossroads, but also as a field of military and strategic competition between influential powers in the world.
Therefore, it becomes imperative for our Naval Forces, as an essential component of the Battle Corps of People's National Army, to execute the missions entrusted to them, ensuring optimal readiness, and demonstrating determination and responsibility."
The General urged personnel to continue efforts to develop and modernize the combat capabilities of the Naval Forces:
“Driven by this sense of responsibility, it is my duty to remind you today of the need to continue the progress that we have made together in recent years, with the aim of meeting the challenge of professionalization and “increase the combat capabilities, as well as the operational skills of our Naval Forces, in particular through the development of a local naval industry and the construction of warships with Algerian hands.”
At the end of the meeting, the General listened to the interventions of the personnel of the Naval Forces Command, before giving them instructions and guidance in their area of expertise.
