As part of the working and inspection visits to the various components of People's National Army, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of People's National Army Staff, paid a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the Land Forces Command on Thursday 14
th March 2024.
After the welcoming ceremony, accompanied by Major General Ammar Athamnya, Commander of the Land Forces, the General observed a moment of meditation in memory of the martyr and hero Didouche Mourad, whose command headquarters bears his name, and laid a wreath of flowers in front of his commemorative stele, before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.
Then, during his meeting with executives and personnel, the General gave an orientation speech, which was followed by the personnel of the units of the six Military Regions via the videoconference system, through which he indicated that the multiplicity of threats and challenges facing our country require People's National Army to maintain operational readiness at its highest levels and to constantly monitor developments in the security situation in the region:
"The multiplicity of threats and challenges facing our country require People's National Army to work to maintain operational readiness at the highest levels, to constantly monitor developments in the security situation in the region, to prepare forces with the necessary rigour, and to intensify exercises at various levels, with a view to mastering the weapons systems we have and bringing our human resources into line with the significant developments in the arts of modern warfare".
The General made the audience aware of the fact that responsibility is a burden and not a distinction, hence the need for all personnel to carry out the missions assigned with the requisite rigour, going hand in hand with the sincere efforts to build the new Algeria:
"It is in this same vein, and under the leadership and guidance of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, that our military personnel, at all levels of the hierarchy, have a duty to prove, in the field, their ability to promote the People's National Army, worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, to the level it deserves.
It is therefore up to everyone to grasp the sense of responsibility, which is a burden and not a distinction, hence the need to carry out the missions assigned with the requisite rigour, going hand in hand with sincere efforts to make the project of the new Algeria a reality".
At the end of his speech, the General gave a series of instructions and guidelines concerning, in short, the need to continue efforts to prepare units and personnel for combat, in accordance with agreed plans and programmes, and to create the best living and working conditions for personnel, particularly during this holy month, so as to enable them to carry out their missions to the full.
