General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff on a working and inspection visit to the National Gendarmerie Command
Within the dynamic of his visits to the different components of People's National Army during the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of PNA Staff carried out this Thursday, 28th March2024, a working and inspection visit to the National Gendarmerie Command.
After the welcoming ceremony, given by Major General Yahia ALI OULHADJ, Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the General observed a moment of contemplation in memory of the Chahid and Hero “Larbi BENM'HIDI”, whose the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie Command was named after him, and a wreath of flowers was placed in front of his commemorative stele before reciting the Fatiha in his memory and that of the valiant Chouhada.
Subsequently, the General met the executives and staff of the National Gendarmerie Command. On this occasion, he delivered an orientation speech which was followed by personnel from all units of this Command by videoconference. In his speech, the General stressed that People's National Army, aware of the different threats, will continue to make efforts to win the challenges of the day:
“Aware of everything that is being planned against our country, we are committed within People's National Army, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, to make efforts after efforts to win the challenges of the day, particularly with regard to safeguarding Algeria's independence and strengthening the foundations of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as maintaining its popular cohesion, which was sealed for eternity by the blood of millions of valiant Chouhada.”
The General underlined the importance of the National Gendarmerie, which serves as a link with the people and as a reliable instrument for People's National Army, in the service of law and the country:
"The National Gendarmerie is an inseparable component of People's National Army and an essential pillar of the security and stability of our country, which contributes significantly, alongside other security bodies, in the fight against terrorism and cross-border organized crime. It plays an equally important role in rural and semi-urban areas, serving as a link with the people and an effective tool in the service of law and the country, on which we rely enormously."
At the end, the General gave a set of instructions and guidelines relating essentially to the need to continue efforts and to demonstrate greater vigilance in order to thwart all conspiracies, and to take all necessary measures, capable of ensuring optimal security in all regions and borders of the country, particularly in this holy month.
