Operational report from 28th February to 05th March 2024
Within the dynamic of the sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People's National Army executed, during the period from 28th February to 5th March 2024, several operations which led to high quality results, which reflect the professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of People's National Army units, the terrorist called "CH.Aïssa" surrendered to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar in 6th MR, in his possession (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov and a quantity of ammunition. In the same context, PNA detachments arrested (13) elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the country, while two (02) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Aïn Defla and Skikda.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aiming to thwart the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (77) drug traffickers, and thwarted attempts to introduce (07) quintals and (07) kilograms of treated kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (942701) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (344) individuals and seized (34) vehicles, (159) generators, (78) jackhammers, (08) metal detectors, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold mining operations. Likewise, (31) other individuals were intercepted and one (01) submachine gun type Kalashnikov, (05) hunting rifles, (10,677) litters of fuel, (43) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (8984) units of various beverages were seized in separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, PNA detachments intercepted (287) illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
