Operation report from 06th to 12th March 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army executed, during the period from 6th March to 12th , 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of People's National Army arrested (02) elements of support for terrorist groups, during two separate operations, while (02) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Boumerdes .
As part of the fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the ANP intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (46) drug traffickers, and foiled attempts to introduce (03) quintals and (45) kilograms of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, while (32,579) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzamet Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (271) individuals and seized (30) vehicles, (127) generators, (106) jackhammers, (10) metal detectors, ( 21) quintals of mixture of stones and raw gold, as well as quantities of explosives, detonation tools and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations. Likewise, (25) other individuals were intercepted and (11) hunting rifles, (03) automatic pistols, (20,587) liters of fuel, (58) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (83) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard foiled, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts by (39) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (294) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
