Operational report of PNA from 13th to 19th march 2024
In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of People’s National Army executed, during the period from 13th March to 19th , 2024, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:
As part of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of People's National Army captured, in Bordj Badji Mokhtaren 6th Military Region, the terrorist "Rikane El-Saffah" who was active in terrorist groups abroad. Likewise, other detachments arrested (15) elements supporting terrorist groups, during separate operations across the national territory.
As part of fight against organized crime, and in continuation of sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the PNA intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations executed across the Military Regions, (27) drug traffickers, and foiled attempts to introduce (546) kilograms of processed kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while (9586) psychotropic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar et Djanet, PNA detachments arrested (45) individuals and seized (29) vehicles, (86) generators, (69) jackhammers, as well as quantities of explosives, tools detonation and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations. Likewise, (14) other individuals were intercepted and (01) Kalashnikov type submachine gun, (05) hunting rifles, (69,222) liters of fuel, (18) tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation and (03) quintals of tobacco were seized during separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard foiled, on the national coasts, illegal emigration attempts by (355) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (1,551) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
